Tip Tuesday
Helping with homework doesn’t mean doing it for your children. Instead, concentrate on positive ways you can support their efforts.

To help your children succeed with homework:
  • Provide a study area with good light, a comfortable chair and enough supplies (i.e. pens, pencils, paper, etc.).
  • When they have to memorize basic facts, help them make flash cards and/or help them study by quizzing them.
  • Instill effective study habits by supporting a regular time for homework with minimal distractions; have your children turn TV’s, phones and loud music off.
  • Recognize their commitment and hard work. For example, when working on an extra difficult assignment or project, treat them with a special snack.
