Body image is no joke.

Were you critical of your looks when you were a teenager? Many kids today feel uncomfortable about their physical appearance. They are very critical of their bodies. In extreme cases, this can lead to depression or to eating disorders.

Your teens might never admit it, but your opinion is important to them. To help your teens develop a better body image, find something about their appearance to compliment (i.e. their beautiful eyes).  And, never make jokes about their appearance or weight. Jokes of this nature are not funny and can be harmful.
