Take Good Notes

When students struggle to understand or remember what happened in a class, it may mean that they need to take better notes.

Below are some note-taking strategies:
  1. Don't try to write down each word. Instead, use abbreviations and listen for what the teacher emphasizes.
  2. Edit notes as soon as possible after class to clarify points while they are fresh in your mind.
  3. Review your notes. Reviewing your notes regularly should get you ready for a test or the next class.
