Help Your Children Learn From Their Mistakes
Children make mistakes. It's what they do next that counts.
Teach your children these five steps for dealing with mistakes:
- Accept responsibility and apologize.
- Fix the error, if possible.
- Figure out why it happened.
- Come up with a plan to avoid making the same mistake again.
- Get over it. Children don't have to feel guilty about their mistakes, but they should remember them so they don't repeat them.
