Eye doctors encourage parents to be on the lookout for signs that their child might have a vision problem.
If your children’s eyes aren’t functioning properly, their learning will suffer. Here are some signs to look for that might indicate your child needs an eye examination:
- Loses his place while reading.
- Avoids close work.
- Holds reading materials closer than normal.
- Complains of headaches.
- Rubs his eyes.
- Tilts his head to use one eye only.
- Reverses letters and words when reading and writing.
- Uses a finger to keep his place when reading.
- Omits or confuses small words when reading.
