If you would like to help your child (or even yourself) with historical events, you need to check out This Day in History. When you arrive at http://dmarie.com/timecap you are able to enter a date that fell between 1800 and 2002; chose Quick Page; and then "travel back in time". You are able to see top news headlines, top songs, prices, what was on TV, hot new toys, top books, who the President and Vice President of the United States was, and a few famous people born on your selected date. The early dates, like 1800-1900 are a bit shy on information, but it is really awesome receiving a history lesson that isn’t painful. A bonus is that the information can be printed.
